nostalgia for an age yet to come...

I've been watching reruns of local comedy show "Almost live" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almost_Live) that date from the Clinton/grunge years.

Imagine a time when Bill Gates wasn't yet married and hadn't built his megahouse, the Kingdome was still up, they hadn't chosen a location for the Downtown Main Seattle Public Library, and Bill Nye the Science Guy wasn't famous yet. This was a decade before I lived here, but it's nice to see that jokes about Ballard drivers and our sports teams leaving are eternal.

Oddly, after a month of watching these, I have seen NONE of the recurring sketches mentioned in the Wikipedia article, but tons of dated references to former Seahawks I've never heard of. It's also fun to watch the opening montage to see how different the skyline is now.
