So this morning I heard the sound of a cat peeing. I thought it odd that I could hear litter box action a room away. I turned the light on and saw a puddle of cat pee on the bed that managed to soak thru 5 layers (duvet, quilt, top sheet, fitted sheet, mattress pad) in mere seconds.
Before I yelled at the guilty party, I checked the litter box to see if there was an explanation for this bizarre behavior by That Cat. the litter boxes are in the hall closet where we hang our coats. the hall closet whose pole collapsed three weeks ago, which necessitated the movement of coats to the other closet.
so The Mediocre (I don't call him The Super. see 3 week delay above for possible explanations) fixed the pole yesterday afternoon, and in the evening, I replaced the coats. Coats go on the side without litter boxes, jackets on the side with the boxes (so nothing long comes in contact with cat bathroom ick).
Guess who closed both sides whilst replacing coats and jackets, thus blocking access to the litter boxes? Yes, that would be me.
Is it any accident that That cat peed on My Side of the bed while I was still in it? At least I know there's a reason and it wasn't a malicious "My cat hates me" event. but still. Pee-tard, meet hoist.
