Photo Set: Abita Springs "UCM" Museum [Mar. 12th, 2007|11:46 pm]
Just me.

Whilst visiting my family in Louisiana in January, I went to this wacky "folk art environment"/ "Museum" in Abita Springs, a town famous locally only for its microbrewery. I tried to eat at their brewpup, but it was closed, maybe for the MLK holiday.

Here are my photos. If you like Howard Finster's Paradise Garden, Bottle houses, Shard mosaics, collections of junk, and a giant "bassigator" and other improbable taxidermy crossovers, you should take a look at it.

they have a website here: http://ucmmuseum.com/ if you prefer fewer and more selective photos.

I assume you mean the hair?

Trick of the light- he's pretty gray, but not all white yet.

you should totally go there, if you haven't already. I can totally see you in a "Darrell the dog-i-gator" t shirt.

I'm also happy to finally have a photo of the Baptist pumpkin center sign.

I've been there! And I ate at the brewpub. I just had one of their beers the other night...it was so tasty.
