Background:

The 43rd district in Seattle is so solidly Democratic (and also kinda gay) that the GOP usually doesn't run a "real" candidate, because it's a waste of time. I could run as an unknown Democrat in this district against John McCain, and I would probably win. So the "real" election for this district is the Democratic primary, because whoever wins that wins the seat.

So now that we have our Democratic Candidate (and eventual winner), people are finally looking at the Republican candidate. Who is a college student. With a Facebook* page.

I remember reading through the candidate listing a couple of weeks back and the platform on school text books stood out to me amidst such non-issues as the war in Iraq, and the erosion of civil liberties.

Pffft. Like frat boys even read schoolbooks.
