826 benefit [Sep. 1st, 2006|11:39 pm]
Just me.

I went to the Dave Eggers/Stephin Merrit/Daniel Handler/Sarah Vowell benefit for the 826 writing center tonight. It was great, but one thing was especially great. There was a performer called Jonathan Coulton who I'd never heard of before and he sang a song that really made me laugh. Guffaw, even. Anyone who has ever attended a corporate meeting or seen Dawn of the Dead will like this. You will love it if you've ever done both at the same time.

go to:
http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songs

and then look under "Thing a Week III" and play "Re: your brains". It's free to play it streaming, but you might throw him a buck if you like this song as much as I did.

Coulton is a fun phenomena. I have friends who are far bigger fans than I am, but "I Feel Fantastic" and "Code Monkey" amuse me greatly.

I've read about him elsewhere on LJ. That was a pretty funny song. Yeah!
