fiction:

1) Sick Puppy- Carl Hiaasen (audio)
Kinda went nuts on the Hiaasen this quarter. now, except for his Young Adult book, Hoot, I've exhausted all his audiobooks. boo.

2) The Big Nowhere James Ellroy (audio)
good as usual, as depressing as the rest of them.

3) Morality for Beautiful Girls (No.1 Ladies Detective Agency) - Alexander McCall Smith - cute, fluffy. probably won't bother to read any more of this series.

4) Skin Tight - Carl Hiaasen (audio)

5) The Dain curse- Dashiell Hammett (audio)
Had never read Maltese Falcon, but picked this up on impulse. eh. Mediocre. I'll try the Falcon, but if that doesn't grab me, Hammett probably not for me.

6) Skinny Dip -Carl Hiaasen (audio)

7) Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way- Bruce Campbell
Disappointing, especially since his autobiography was so good. Beware the "semi-autobiographical novel". reads quick, though.

8) Tourist Season - Carl Hiaasen (audio)

non-fic:
9) Wrong About Japan : A Father's Journey with His Son - Peter Carey
Famous author dad takes anime-loving pre-teen to Japan. light but insightful look at dads and/or otaku (look it up).

10) Liberty Meadows Volume 2: Creature Comforts - Frank Cho. collection of cartoon strips. fine for an afternoon read.

11) From Altoids to Zima : The Surprising Stories Behind 125 Famous Brand Names - Evan Morris . trivia fodder. interesting.

12) Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil -- by John Berendt (audio) really enjoyable even though it's like 10 years old and everyone's read it before now.

13) The Other Hollywood: The Uncensored Oral History of the Porn Film Industry - Legs McNeil - excellent. amazed more people involved in the earlier days didn't end up dead or in jail. Big surprise- many performers as vapid as you'd expect.

14) An Underground Education : The Unauthorized and Outrageous Supplement to Everything You Thought You Knew About Art, Sex, Business, Crime, Science, Medicine, and Other Fields of Human - Richard Zacks - for fans of the Straight Dope or Snopes. great factoids.

15) Team Rodent : How Disney Devours the World (Library of Contemporary Thought - Carl Hiaasen (audio) - short rant on Disney's more unsavory aspects.

Currently reading: freakanomics, which just rules so much.

I've never heard of Dain Curse, but the Falcon and most other Hammet is really good.
