New sport combines violence and tedium*

If this catches on, I forsee a sequel to my favorite "most narrowly focused study of the intersection of 2 hobbies and a cultural identity":

Jewish Chess Masters on Stamps

Come on, McFarland**, there'll be an audience for "Jewish Chessboxers on Stamps", I promise.

*yeah, I said it. Chess players are welcome to flame me but it will not change my opinion.

**for those not librarians or otherwise in the book biz, McFarland publishes academic titles on some very narrowly focused topics, especially in sports, recreation and the performing arts. When you see a title like "Correspondence Chess in America" or "Baseball’s Retired Numbers" or "The Mexican Masked Wrestler and Monster Filmography", the experienced eye immediately thinks "Mcfarland".
