March 7th, 2005

welcome to middle age:

I pretty much only look at my horoscope on my birthday. Today's offerings:

from the Seattle PI:
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (March 7). Your special achievements are rewarded! An independent spirit rules, and the next 10 weeks show you being particularly resistant to doing anything inauthentic to you. Singles have multiple romantic options through the spring. Summer brings friends together for travel and rollicking good times. Lucky love signs are Taurus and Gemini. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 6, 16, 34 and 1.

Although the "rollicking good times" sound like fun, the second half of the 2nd sentence ("being particularly resistant to doing anything inauthentic to you") is cringeworthy enough that I expect another horoscope to say "Your inner copy-editor will be offended today".

from the Seattle Times:
IF MARCH 7 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: The year ahead may be the best one ever if you take advantage of the wisdom in your hands right now. Plan ahead, as you are more far-seeing than usual. You are aware of the abundant potential in new situations that arise both now and again in May and August. It is possible to find the job of your dreams and forge the romantic partnership you have always fanaticized about in the coming months. You will be sitting pretty in some important way by next December.

Speaking of copy editing (maybe that's the job of my dreams?) did they mean "fanaticized", or "fantasized"? Because "fanaticized" to me suggests that I'll be hooking up with Nick Cave, or that guy at the coffee shop I've been considering stalking, or some other unhealthy version of "romantic partnership".
