review: Eternal Sunshine of the LongTitle [Apr. 5th, 2004|11:01 pm]
Just me.
As good as everyone else says. Can't even find fault with Jim Carrey.

Interestingly, I saw this 2 days after Hellboy in the same multiplex and got none of the same trailers. The most intriguing of the bunch was a Martin Donovan (I loved him in Hal Hartley's "Trust") vehicle called Saved! that appears to be a Heathers-type dark teen comedy set at a fundamentalist Christian school. People you've heard of in the credits are Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse),
Macaulay Culkin (playing the sensitive Wheelchair boy in an attempt to continue his transition to grownup roles) and Executive Producer Michael Stipe (some emo guy).

sorry- it was a spur of the moment thing with my out-o'-town guest. life will be back to normal as of monday 4/12- after that we should hang out and watch a movie that doesn't suck.

Have you seen Cabin fever?

I liked this one quite a lot, despite no being a fan of Charlie Kaufman's previous work. Whereas his other films felt like they were simply gimmick movies this one had a solid core to it, in addition to the clever gimmick.

That movie (Saved!) looks great. You forgot to mention Jena Malone (Donnie Darko's girlfriend), Mandy Moore (pop star turned pop actress, interesting to see her in an indie film), Patrick Fugit (kid from Almost Famous), Mary-Louise Parker (hot chick from "The West Wing"), and... Valerie Bertinelli as "Herself"!
