Damn. Only halfway through it, but "God only knows" is so simple and perfect, it brings tears to my eyes. I'm not sure I can ever hear this song again without getting a mite bit weepy.
In less sappy news, saw "The Ring" tonight. If you get the DVD, they've strung together the "deleted scenes" in a way that not only is worth watching, but makes sense as an alternate narrative. Contrast this with crappy "extras" like those of "The man who wasn't there", which, if I recall properly, has three deleted takes of Frances Mcdormand putting a dish on the table.
A good rule of thumb if you are ever in the position to put together a feature film DVD is to ask yourself "How will this 'extra' contribute to the viewers understanding or appreciation of this film?" Cuz if you can justify the enlightment I'm supposed to get out of 3 silent takes of table setting, I('d love to hear that argument.
