|seattle: I need to borrow a VCR that records for one day:

Anyone? I need to dump something to VHS tape from an 8mm video camera. it will take 5 minutes, that's how short the tape is. but I have to do it by monday night.|
Pretty please? the commercial services that can actually do this charge an arm and a leg and the turnaround time is too long because I have waited til the last minute like a dumb ass.
I will reward your generosity with beverages/cupcakes/your legal drug of choice.
At the risk of asking a really stupid question--um, your library doesn't have one?

remember, I changed jobs...
Tacoma PL would have had a VCR to check tapes with patron complaints, but it may or may not had a record function. But I don't work there anymore, so the question is moot.
At my new library, we don't circulate DVDs or videos, since 98% of our patrons are blind or visually impaired. If they want movies, they can get them from their local public library, but since our mission is "talking books and braille", that's what we got.
So its not a stupid question, but no, there's not a VCR anywhere in the building as far as I know.
but a friend with a dvd burner came thru, so I should be good to go tonight!
