ya know, I didn't think "Perfume" would have anything stylistically in common with "Shortbus". You'd think I'd have remembered such a scene from the book (which, admittedly, I read a decade ago).

Recommended, okay to wait for DVD. Not the best date movie, but hey.

POSSIBLE SPOILER

I just finished the book last week.. how graphic is the ending in the movie?

Re: POSSIBLE SPOILER

Way less graphic than anything in Shortbus, but WAY more people. Pretty unerotic, since we're talking largely about toothless dirty peasants here. The scope of extras was epic...it looked like a Spencer Tunick* installation. Since I'd forgotten about that scene in the book, I was rather surprised when it happened.

*SFW, though links from it probably aren't: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spencer_Tunick

Re: POSSIBLE SPOILER

Oh, sorry, I should have clarified. I was more curious how gorey/violent the movie might be.

Re: POSSIBLE SPOILER

not too gorey. truthfully, the grossest scenes are at the very beginning in the fish market, where you see many animals being butchered/cleaned, and there's some maggots here and there. but there's little direct violence on the screen.
