if I were a KEXP Dj... [Apr. 13th, 2006|11:32 am]
Just me.
Jon in the Morning played the Jim Carroll Band's "People who Died" this morning.

And I thought, you know what would be a funny song to play after (or right before) that? "88 lines about 44 women" by the Nails. In all my years of radio Djing I've never heard anyone do this, yet it seems so obvious.

Only 13 people are listed in "People who Died", but it seems like more because a few of the verses repeat.

Instead, Jon played Jim Carroll after Belle and Sebastian, which might be either genius programing or just really random song shuffling.

I've always thought "People Who Died", "88 lines about 44 Women" and the Butthole Surfers' "Pepper" made a good 3-fer.

Have you heard "88 Lines about 42 Presidents" by the Brunching Shuttlecocks?

Not nearly as good as the original, but amusing.

I like that trilogy. Cue it now, damn it.
