My favorite band in Ohio when I lived there was Gil Mantera's Party Dream. I have not seen them perform since I left in 2002, and now that they are finally playing in Seattle, it's during my vacation to Thailand. I'm bummed to miss them, but what can I do except urge other Seattle folk to go see them? They are the opening act but that shouldn't deter you.
Here's a link where a mainstream magazine likes them:
Here is their website:
lemur68 can almost describe what it like to experience The Party Dream:
Sound clips do not do justice to the Spectacle that is The Donny. Just go. You'll have to trust me on this. Dawn, you especially will have a good time.
Neumo's, saturday 3/25. Be there for me.
I'm torn! That is the same night at the Guerilla Costume Party's Tropicaraoke, which I am really looking forward to.

the choice is clear:
GMP does a party every month. Gil Mantera lives 4 time zones away and is unlikely to be back for years, unless they somehow get as popular as Interpol.
also, since they're the opening band, it might be possible to do both, depending where the GMP is meeting...

Re: the choice is clear:
Well you know they'd be at least as big as Peaches or Har Mar Superstar if they hadn't committed the unpardonable crime of being from Ohio instead of Brooklyn, the SF Bay, or Olympia.
I think that post of Lemur's is one of my favorites ever.
When did they get rock & roll hair?
