Uncle Duke [Feb. 21st, 2005|01:35 am]
Just me.
I smell death hoax. I mean, it's Thompson- if there's anyone that would want to be around to witness the circus of their own death, it's him.

Also, he should have died of some kind of excess, like drugs, fiery car crash, or AK-47 hunting accident. Suicide at 67 makes no sense for a guy like him, unless he had a painful terminal illness or pending mob hit or something.

I'm probably wrong, but if I'm right and it's a successful hoax, we'll never know the difference.

I dunno, the fact that there's a request for no circus tells me that it's the real thing.

I blame Bush. There's no real reason for it; it just feels right.

I wonder if Doonesbury will kill off the Duke character that is supposedly based on him.

I think it makes total sense. He may not have been sick, but he knew it was around the corner and probably didn't want to deal with it...
