William S. Burroughs in the house... [Nov. 18th, 2004|10:19 pm]
Just me.
I watched CSI for the first time tonight, and was rewarded with a fun literary reference: When there's someone in Las Vegas performing illegal gender reassignment surgery on transexuals, you have to smile when his name is, yes, Dr. Benway.

hopefully next prime time show I watch will have a talking asshole or an "accidently on purpose shooting your wife in the head in Mexico" reference.

I caught that too!

I'm hoping they reference Hunter Thompson next week.

You didn't know of CSI's macabre brilliance?!?!!!

- Jerry Stahl, of _Permanent Midnight_ & crack-smoking-while-writing-Alf & "Cafe Flesh" fame wrote several great episodes in the first two seasons;
- Season IV has an incredibly accurate and fair portrayal of plushie-lifestyle;
- Season III had midget sex

what's not to like?

Honestly, though, the Jerry Stahl episodes are the ones to watch.
