So, let me make sure I have this straight:

1) Terrorism was or wasn't a priority for the Justice Department before September 11, depending who you believe/ask.
2) The Justice department is proudly INCREASING efforts and budgets for obscenity prosecutions post-9/11.
3) According to Our President, Muslim extremists attacked our citizens because they "They hate our freedoms -- our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to vote and assemble and disagree with each other." *
4) Ashcroft is making a special effort to fight pornography because he....loves our freedom?

As Jon Stewart would say, "I got nothin'."

I'm begining to believe/hope that Bush and Cheney won't lose the election for themselves in November; it'll be Asscroft that voters are most wanting to kick back to whatever snake-handling backwater burg he crawled out of.

Elections

I'm begining to believe/hope that Bush and Cheney won't lose the election for themselves in November; it'll be Asscroft that voters are most wanting to kick back to whatever snake-handling backwater burg he crawled out of.

John Asscroft has told so many lies, said so many patently absurd things, I'm surprised the 9/11 commission was so soft on him.

His opening statement was an offense.

Bush looked simultaneous as if he were going to cry/start screaming during his "press conference" last night.

And remember what yer boy Jon Stewart said about the historical information "Bin Laden Determined To Attack US" PDB of August 2001 --- YOU'RE FUCKING KIDDING ME, RIGHT?

Strangely enough, we disagree!

...but I ain't gettin' into it here. I talk about the Notorious DOJ some in my own LJ, though, in comments on this post.

Oh, all right, the thousand-foot view: I think

  1. John Ashcroft totally R0><0RZ my B()><()RZ, notwithstanding which I think
  2. He should have better things to do than crack down on Let My Puppets Come, but still, on the whole,
  3. He's done a lot of hard work, and he needs to let off steam every once in a while by bitch-slapping Larry Flynt, and in any event,
  4. Jon Stewart has sure gotten a lot less funny since Clinton left office.


But I recognize that (d) is putting me on dangerous ground here...
