Why am I unsurprised? [Jan. 10th, 2004|12:33 am]

Tacoma Ranks as Most Stressful U.S. City

Although this description:
"The city of 195,000, just 30 miles east of Seattle..."
baffles me- East of Seattle would be like, Issaquah or something. If anything, Tacoma is slightly SSW of seattle, but your average Tacoman would probably say "South of Seattle".

If they weren't being shot at, I mean.

Something happens as you get south of Seattle with the city nicknames that lets you know something bad is happening.

Seattle -- 'Emerald City, 'Queen City.'
Alki -- 'Alki'
White Center -- 'Rat City'
Tacoma -- 'Murder City'

"On a brighter note, Tacomans can feel safe from bodily harm thanks to the low violent crime rate," Sperling wrote in his report.

personally, i think it's because the whole county needs a smoke.
